Flooded at Taman Johor Jaya, Johor Bahru

It was a Heavy Downpour for more than an hour around Johor Bahru area (4pm - 10th Apr 2009). The common flood area at Rosmerah area of Taman Johor Jaya was full of water! It's was about 1-1.5 meter deep! The actual location is along Jalan Rosmerah Utama towards Seroja area, just under the Pasir Gudang Highway (bridge) (N1°32.110' E103°47.849').

I saw a Perodua Kancil and Toyota van stuck in the middle of the water! The van was stuck just under the bridge and the water was covered the 4 tyres (about 1.5 meter deep).

Photo taken from Rosmerah area, after the bridge is Seroja area.

The deluge even squeeze in to this row of shop lots!

The shops at Jalan Roamerah 3/2

The poor little car in the water! Luckily the lady owner was escape from the car!

One of the car (looks like Honda) was swept away by the water, and the whole car overturn at behind of the shoplots.

Can you see the tyre? The car was overturn...

The rain last for almost 3 hours and it started to slow down...everything back to normal after that except the owner of the vehicles...

    Thanks for the visit.
Are you stay somewhere around Johor Jaya too? Anyway, I'm worried too...

    Hi Phil,
    Thanks for the visit.
Everywhere also jam during the heavy rain period...Johor Jaya worst! Cos they had temporary lost the one of the exit out of JJ.

    foong,
Yes, surprised me! And this is the first time in this area.

    Bakeling,
Yes, I saw the Civil Defense guys were helping the victims out of the van I mention. But some of them were having their cigarette under the trees....

  6. The bridge area connecting the Seroja part of JJ is very low, plus all the slopes leading down to it. Last time the water always knee-deep when it rained in that area, but now flood?! Wow. Something has to be done if that place flood so quickly now.

  8. JL,
The water came in also very fast! Otherwise the cars won't stuck in middle of the water.

    Phil,
I will call you tomorrow for beer! Haha!
